Welcome to CG Gator!

CG Gator is the future home and name for the next version of http://www.texturearchive.com. Why the change? Well we love Texture Archive but the name doesn't really fit with our long-term goals as a site, so we have decided now was a good time to start the transition to the new brand. In addition to that, our parent company http://www.blackelephantstudios.com which uses an "Elephant", our gaming forum is http://www.blackrhinogames.com which uses a "Rhino" - see a pattern here? So we will be called CG Gator which of course will be using a Alligator.

What will this site be?

Well to start we will focus on building up a blog and focusing on industry content in addition to providing our free textures, zbrush brushes and other assets for digital artists. We have a lot to do still on our new platform which will include resources, assets, portfolios and much more, but we really wanted to get something up sooner than later where we can start having discussions and hopefully start building more of a community than just a texture source.

When will the new site be ready?

In the future! Honestly we have no idea, this is a side project for Black Elephant Studios, so our top priority are our clients, everything else comes second. We are a small team, so resources are limited and there are so many great avenues yet to explore for how we can build a truly unique and valuable community for everyone.
